Lead: Larry Lane

Larry is a retired High School Band Director and Elementary School General Music Teacher with 23 years of service in Charlotte. He has also served as a Minister of Music, played trumpet in the orchestras for numerous Broadway Touring Shows, The Ringling Brother's Circus, The Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra, The PTL Club Orchestra, CPCC Summer Theater Orchestra and the US Air Jazz Band. As an active vocal musician and conductor he sang in and directed the eight voice a cappella jazz ensemble IMPROMPTU, served as the Director of the Main Stage Chorus of the Charlotte Choral Society, directed the men's Barbershop Chorus The Carolina Chord Company and has also served as guest conductor, clinician and arranger for many choral organizations. Larry is currently the Music Director for The Gold Standard Chorus, an a cappella men's chorus in Charlotte, NC and The Choir Director at Benton's Crossroads Baptist Church in Monroe, NC.  He is married to his wonderful wife Robin and they have two daughters, Austin and Amanda. They also have four beautiful granddaughters Abigail, Emma, Isabella and Olivia.

Bass: Scot Gregg

Born and raised in Asheville, NC to a very musical family, Scot started playing the trumpet in middle school and continued all the way through college. He was selected to be a part of the Baptist All-State Youth Choir for two consecutive years and went on to earn a BA in Music from Wingate University with an emphasis in Voice. While in college Scot sang in the University and Chamber Choirs and played trumpet in the Jazz and Pep Bands. He was part of many theatrical productions including Broadway Reviews and Handel's Messiah. While in college he was invited to sing with the renowned Charlotte, NC based ensemble the Wandering Minstrels in which he continues to sing every holiday season. Scot is relatively new to singing Barbershop having joined his first quartet called Nightcap in 2006. He went on to sing with the quartets Grand Central and the 2011 Carolinas District Quartet Champs 17 Below. 17 Below went on to represent the district at the 2012 Barbershop Harmony Society's International Quartet/Chorus Contest in Portland, Oregon in 2012. He and his wife Kelly live in Denver, NC.

Baritone: Mark Rodda

Mark is a third generation quartet man who sang his first Barbershop song at the ripe old age of two! He is currently the Associate Director of the Gold Standard Chorus. Over the years he has played piano, trombone, baritone, drums and percussion. In his spare time, he sells residential real estate and enjoys sampling beers from around the globe with his adorable wife Marcia.

Tenor: Ben Mills

Ben grew up singing music in his crib. Ben has sung with various quartets and choruses over the years. He is a member of the Gold Standard Chorus in Charlotte, NC. Ben is also one of the founders and the Music Director of the Carolina Vocal Express. The Carolinas Vocal Express is a 100+ man barbershop chorus based out of the Gastonia, NC chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The chorus will be representing the Carolinas District at the 2015 Barbershop Harmony Society's International Contest in Pittsburgh. Ben has also served as a Music Minister for several churches around the Charlotte area over the past 15 years. Ben enjoys spending time with his LARGE family of five beautiful children and his AMAZING wife, Sasha. When not spending most of his time on Barbershop Music, he sometimes works a REAL job as a Credit Advisor for Wells Fargo Bank.
